It’s no secret, I listen to a lot of Skrillex. He is simply the best dubstep artist around right now. With that said the entire genre is pretty great. It’s funny, though, because I have been listening to more and more indie music as of late. I like the chillaxed tones and the well thought out lyrics. What also appeals to a tech enthusiast such as myself is the plethora of music websites out there. It is so easy to find new mysic on Spotify. I’ve also started following Pitchfork Media quite a bit. The reason why I started listening to so much simple is because I bought a guitar and a synthesizer. The sounds you can get from these instruments lend themselves well to an electropop feel. I’m trying to put a band together that would be somewhere in between electropop and dubstep. What should I call this genre? Dubpop? Electrostep? The ticket to this concept is that you would have sweet melodies which would lead up to a big drop. It goes from hot to cold and back. It’s going to be pretty awesome, and I’m hoping that I can become the “Skrillex” of dubpop. Maybe someday you’ll be reading about my musical journies on this very blog!
