History of Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri

Christina Perri, born August 19, 1986 in Philadelphia (USA), is am American singer-songwriter. She is best known for her single and piano part Jar of Hearts Sheet Music.

BiographyShe grew up in a suburb of Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Her brother, Nick Perri, has played for numerous groups such as Shinedown, Silvertide and worked with Farrell and Matt Sorum. Christina attended Archbishop Ryan High School where she graduated in 2004. At 16, she became interested in guitar by watching a performance by Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon group.

2007-2009: Beginnings Christina moved to Los Angeles in 2007 at the age of 21. She began writing songs but will did not make and success. She was in a relationship, got married but after 18 months got divorced and moved back to Philadelphia in late 2009. It was during that time she wrote the song Jar Of Hearts. She returned to Los Angeles in 2010, hoping to land a record deal. She finally signed with Atlantic Records in 2010. Still to make ends meet, she became a waitress at Melrose Café by day and working on her first album in the evening.

2010 – present:Finally her first success came with the single Jar Of Hearts, a song she had written in 2009. The song was played for the first time at the show “So You Think You Can Dance” on June 30, 2010. The dancers to the song were Billy Bell and Katryn McCormick. It is thanks to Keltie Colleen, a friend of Christina, that the song was received by the choreographer Stacy Tookey. The single enjoyed good success, selling more than 48,000 digital copies, and reached 63rd position on the Billboard Hot 100. Soon it reached the 28th position of the charts. In less than a month, the single sold 100,000 copies. She then made her first appearance on television on July 10 on – The Early Show broadcast on CBS. On July 29, she was interviewed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Christina released a 5 song EP called The Ocean Way Sessions, released on November 9, 2010. Her first album “Lovestrong” was released May 10, 2011. The first single is Jar of Hearts, followed by a second single called Arms which was released on March 15.
